EDITING LABS
Room 014 A has an Apple computer running Snow Leopard OS and Final Cut Studio version 7.0.2. It also has a mini-DV/DVCam HDV deck and DVD recorder.
Room 013 C has an Apple G5 iMac computer running OS 10.4.11 and Final Cut Studio 5.1.4. It has a mini-DV/DVCam deck and a DVD recorder.
You cannot save your work to our computers. It is required that you bring your own hard drive.
USB flash/thumb drives are OK to a point. Consider that 5 minutes of full size video with stereo audio equals approximately 1 GB of hard drive space. You will have difficulty capturing and editing video to and from a USB drive. It is suggested that you use a hard drive with at least a 6 pin to 6 pin 400 mps firewire connection.
Remember to allow ample time for any processing and burning.
Please note that any DVD recording needs a DVD in the DVD-R format
These rooms are open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Contact Charlie Bryant to make a reservation.
Reservations are limited to 3 hours, but can be extended the day of if no others have reserved time following you.

PARKING
You can park behind the Media Center to pickup and return equipment.
You must enter the campus off of Southbound Speer Blvd. by the South Building. Look for the sign that mentions St. Francis Interfaith Center.
Go to the parking gate and tell them you need to pickup or return equipment at the Media Center. They will give you a 20 minute pass. Be sure to mention to me that you are parked in back. Sometimes it is very busy and it might take longer than the pass allows if I don’t move you up in line. You avoid a ticket. I avoid the guilt.
