APPROPRIATION PROJECT
For this project, start by acquiring ‘found’ video footage through a variety of appropriated sources (archive.org, youtube.com, ripped dvd’s, digitized vhs cassettes, etc.).
Once footage is acquired, and digitized, it will then be altered and edited into a ‘new’ outcome.
The resulting work may retain traces of the appropriated content, but the outcome should be definitively your own.

PERFORMANCE PROJECT
For this project, you will employ yourself as the primary asset in your video piece. Reference historical and contemporary artists who use themselves in their work. Select a theme, or some goal for the piece, and establish the best way to compose, shoot, edit and produce the work.
Final works must be authored to a navigable dvd for critique presentation.

This project will be allotted the most studio time, and will serve as your final exam. You are free to choose your direction, but be prepared to present your work in the following contexts: historical, aesthetics, cultural and personal efforts.
